Remember when Facebook felt cooler?

I remember when I first signed up for Facebook and it felt like such a great idea. It was a easy way to keep in touch with old friends and everyone was doing it. I look back and remember when I logged in because I really wanted to and not because it was a dirty habit I couldn't break.

Now I log in and instantly regret it. I end up reading about people's life and learning things I really never wanted or cared to know. It's like a secret diary except the whole world gets to read it. And you get to see people bitching about each other and threatening to beat each other up. It's all really maddening.

So everyday I log in, get frustrated, vow to close my account but I never do. Why? Because it helps me keep track of people's birthdays and anniversaries. It's a very easy way to say Happy Birthday or Merry Christmas to old friends. There are also a few people who don't post such personal stuff that I do like having easy access to say hello. Also it's a dirty habit I just can't break. I wonder if they have support groups?

As long as people don't start posting their bathroom breaks I'll probably stick around forever.

It's the internet ... what else is there to do?

Quick Take on Black Swan

Watched Black Swan this evening with my wife. I can see why Natalie Portman won the Best Actress Oscar but I didn't really like the film. I felt the same way about Darren Aronofsky's previous film, The Wrestler. The acting was well done but there were a lot of moments where I was just wondering what the hell was going on. Once you grasp the premise you start to understand what they are attempting to do. I just wasn't feeling the delivery.

But it was better then Inception.

Episodes: Matt LeBlanc is funny as Matt LeBlanc

I was flipping though my On Demand options looking for something to watch and decided to give Episodes a shot. I had seen some previews and it looked funny so it wasn't a bad option for something to watch while I did some free step on Wii Fit.

The premise of the the show is that a American tv producer convinces a British couple to transform their hit British show into an American sitcom. It's a valid premise when you think about all the other things we've copied from Britian.

The pilot was a little off as pilots often tend to be since they have to introduce the concept and the characters but there was enough in the pilot to get me to keep watching. Especially when the British couple is told that the studio wants Matt LeBlanc as the lead star.

Matt LeBlanc is amazing in this show. He's doing a spoof on himself and easily goes between scenes where he's a likable guy and scenes where he's a total douche. I could think of a lot of actors who could have done this role when I first read about Showtime green lighting this show but after watching the first 5 episodes no one could have been a better choice then LeBlanc. Although David Schwimmer as David Schwimmer might have been entertaining.

This is easily the best thing I've watched from a former Friend's cast member. The show perfectly blends what I love about both British and American comedy. I'm definitely interested to see where the show goes.

Tuesday Top Ten

So I've decided every Tuesday will be Top Ten day. I'll post a different list of my favorite things in some area of Pop Culture. To celebrate the release of Tangled on DVD which I will be renting soon I'm gonna start with my Top Ten Animated Movies.

Now you should know that my list changes all the time. Sometimes I'll forgot about one and it'll miss the list but then later I'll remember it and remember it should have been number 5 on the list. Happens all the time. I'm getting older so what can you really do. Anyways here is my Top Ten Animater Movies as of today.

10. An American Tail
9. A Bug’s Life
8. Monsters’ Inc
7. Beauty and The Beast
6. Bambi
5. Shrek Series
4. Aladdin
3. The Hunchback of Notre Dame
2. Lion King
1. Toy Story Series

After making the list I realized I could easily make a Top 25 Animated Movies. I'm such a kid!

New poster for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2

Anyone that knows me knows how excited I am for this movie. I've read the book so many times that the binding has all but fallen off. But it still amazes me how much a single poster can make me geek out. If I was a single man I would find a way to hang that poster on my wall. It's too bad my wife won't let me hang posters.

Regardless July will be a good month. My wedding Anniversary and Harry Potter. What else could a guy hope for?

Is this where it starts?

If you are reading this then thanks for being kind or curious enough to visit my blog. Or maybe you're just really bored and have nothing else to do. Either way I appreciate that someone will read it. At least I hope someone will read it.

I'm mostly writing for myself. I just wanted to be able to write about things I like. The fact is even though I know my wife loves me she thinks that for the most part I have bad taste. Maybe I do but I can live with that. She loves me anyways.

So if you are reading I hope you enjoy my ramblings. I'd like to say I put a lot of thought into this but I don't. I just type and then hit the button for spell check. Hopefully you enjoy anyways.
