Top Ten: Unlikeable Characters Who Turned It Around

It 's a hallmark of any teen drama. There is always the character that starts off as the asshole. He's the arch nemesis of the main character. You should off hating the character but slowly things change. The characters grow up. They learn from mistakes and eventually the character becomes a fan favorite and the past is forgotten and forgiven.

Anyways since I'm a huge geek who watches way to much TV I created another list below.

10.  Evan on Greek

The character went back and forth so many times between likable and despicable. At least he got it together by the end and stood by the KTs.

9. Whitney on Smallville

Another character that went back and forth but you have to appreciate someone who dies fighting for his country.

8. Luke on The OC

He makes the list more because he was able to jump ship before the show got really bad in season two.

7. Logan on Veronica Mars

He was really annoying at first and was kind of a cliche but by the end of the first season of was one of the best reasons to watch the show since he made a great couple with Veronica.

6. Taylor on The OC

It wasn't that she was unlikable. She was more annoying then unlikable but the character changed the dynamic of the fourth (and arguable the best) season of the show.

5. Sawyer on Lost

I think the character was forced to become likable because of how Josh Holloway portrayed Sawyer. He was written as the anti-jack but with the nicknames and private moments he shared with other castaways he was hard not to like the character.

4. Jin on Lost

When the show started I hated Jin but at the moment when he realized that Sun could speak English it all changed for him. He developed a friendship with Michael and Sawyer which allowed the character to grow into move then just a dominating husband.

3. Bright on Everwood

The main problem with Bright was that he started off as a very one dimensional character. He was the bully jock character that any decent person hated in high school which made you dislike him. Again it was a matter of letting the character grow into more then just the jock. Once he become the good brother and good friend the character become one of the better parts of a great show.

2. Alex on Grey’s Anatomy

It's been a long run for the character who started by antagonizing the core cast into becoming friends with them. Out of anyone on the show he has changed the most becoming a respectable doctor who truly cares for his patients.

1. Nathan on One Tree Hill

A true picture of how love can make someone change for the better. Sometimes all you need is the desire to be a better person so that you can earn the love of someone else. It took about half a season to become likable but once it happened there was no turning back for the character.

  1. Love this list! Had a feeling Nathan would be number one! He was the first one I thought of when I read the title of this post.

Of course I agree with all of them! Some I actually forgot about. Jin really did change a lot from the beginning. Great list! I'm writing down this idea for a future blog post.

I have a question for you, is it hard for your top tens (any of the lists) to narrow down the list to just ten with how much TV you watch? I have the hardest time lol

  2. It depends on the list for me. With this list I got the ten pretty easily but I was going to go do Top Ten Favorite Songs but got to a list of 75 before I gave up.
